Business connections come a long way and cannot be seen lightly, with a solid management team around Datuk Chua Tee Yong and Datuk Steven Lim forming a close-knit relationship with governing bodies. This resulted in a collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) and forming Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa, racking up RM 31 million of Box Office record. This leads to future partnerships with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and being appointed as the strategic partner for the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK) in the effort of battling against fraud and scam cases in the country.

Further partnerships include another project with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), informing an enforcement team to work the respective ministry on combating against illegal TV networks in Malaysia.

Group Chairman

The chairman of Multimedia Group - Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Khalid bin Abu Bakar, served as the 10th Inspector-General of Police of Malaysia on 17 May 2013. He began his career with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in 1976. Upon completing the basic training as Probationary Inspector, he was transferred to the Anti-Narcotics Branch at Bukit Aman Kuala Lumpur.

Khalid was appointed as the new Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) group chairman on 5 September 2017 after he officially handed over his police command. Additionally, on the same day, he was appointed as Prime Minister’s special envoy in matters relating to combating terrorism, extremism and human trafficking on the international stage.

During his time in the force, he received extended experience at the international level where he attended various courses and capability development programmes in countries like Australia, Japan, Thailand, Canada and the Netherlands. He was the driving force in establishing various strategic alliances and collaborations with foreign enforcement agencies in combating global security issues.

Group Advisor

The overall advisor of Multimedia Group - YBHG. Datuk Chua Tee Yong currently holds the position of Senior Director of the Tax and Finance Consulting Division at Asia Business Center Sdn Bhd. He was appointed as a member of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) on 25 May 2021. 

Datuk Chua was a Malaysian politician and was a Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Labis constituency in the State of Johor for two terms (2008-2018). He has experience serving as a Deputy Minister in three ministries from 2010 to 2018 and holds a Master of Business Administration from Mt. Eliza Business School, Melbourne, Australia.

The Founder

Datuk Steven Lim Boon Siong, the founder and managing director of Multimedia Group. He is an avid fan of creative arts and entertainment and was actively in produced movies locally. His ultimate goal is to build a more viable and sustainable local film industry environment for artistes, to explore diverse talents as well as for patrons who appreciate the richness of our local diversities of culture and lifestyle.

He established Multimedia Entertainment Sdn Bhd in 1999, having by then made the entrepreneurial transition into the area of copyright purchase and commissioned local manufactures of materials for distribution under titles acquired from overseas companies. This innovative move by Datuk Steven Lim successfully clinched the exclusive Hong Kong TVB video distribution rights for Malaysia for multimedia.

Datuk Steven Lim was the investor and producer of Malaysia local high-grossing films, which includes Ola Bola (2016) and Malaysia’s military action film, Paskal The Movie (2018). He was also listed in the “Literature of Wealth”, published by Nanyang Siang Pau, as one of the successful entrepreneurs in Malaysia.

Johnny has been on board with Multimedia since 1999, under the careful wing of Datuk Steven Lim, assisting him through times of challenge and loyalty.  Carrying with him more than 20 years of experience in drama & movie distribution, Johnny knew which channels to disseminate complete films at the right time to the right audience, serving indispensable knowledge along the way. Johnny’s roles include business development within Multimedia Group, having built strong rapport over the years with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Living Costs (KPDNHEP) and has worked with a wide range of distributors & suppliers.

Keoh Chee Ang

Executive Producer

A gifted filmmaker with an eye for production, Chee Ang brings passion and enthusiasm to the scene. He took the role as the assistant director in 2010, for the local box office hit "Ice Kacang Puppy Love", starred and directed by local artist Ah Niu. 

In the following years, he produced various Malaysian grossing films, including "Hungry Ghost Ritual" (2014), "King of Mahjong" (2015), "Let's Eat" (2016) and "PASKAL The Movie" (2018). A story about the country’s elite military unit, PASKAL The Movie took the country by storm when it raked in over RM 30 million at the box office, taking the top spots for local movies in 2018. 

Apart from local films, Chee Ang’s passion for filmmaking made him pursue his participation in external co­production projects, bridging the ties between local and international filmmakers, such as "Peace Breaker" (2016), "The Sleep Curse" (2016), and "Conspirators" (2012) to name a few.
