“Haunting Call” – A Gripping Tale of Horror and Retribution

Directed by esteemed filmmaker Danny Pang, Haunting Call presents a suspenseful and thought-provoking narrative that explores themes of terror and justice. The film follows Xiaoya, a high school student subjected to relentless bullying, whose tragic demise marks the beginning of a chilling supernatural vengeance. Returning as a vengeful spirit, she utilizes a mysterious mobile phone to confront those responsible for her suffering.

Acclaimed actress Lin Min-Chen portrays Lily, a popular YouTuber who unexpectedly receives Xiaoya’s haunted phone. As she unravels the dark truth behind Xiaoya’s story, Lily becomes entangled in a quest for justice, uncovering disturbing secrets along the way. The film highlights pressing social issues, particularly school bullying and cyberbullying, while delivering a compelling and suspense-driven narrative.

Renowned for his expertise in the horror genre, Danny Pang (The Eye, The Child’s Eye) masterfully crafts an atmospheric and intense cinematic experience. Produced by Multimedia Entertainment, Astro, Multimedia (HK) Production Limited, and WHY Entertainment, with MY and MELODY as official radio partners, Haunting Call is set for theatrical distribution in Malaysia through GSC Movies.
