Takluk: Lahad Datu is an action-packed, drama-filled film inspired by the real-life Lahad Datu standoff and Ops Daulat incident, which occurred in 2013. The movie is a collaboration between several major industry players, including Multimedia Group, The Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), Astro, and Six Fun Media. Directed by Zulkarnain Azhar and starring prominent actors Syafiq Kyle, Kamal Adli, and Fikry Ibrahim, the film follows the gripping story of Malaysia's elite VAT69 Commandos and IPD officers as they bravely defend their villages against a brutal attack by the fictional GMN terrorist group.

Set against the backdrop of a real-life crisis, Takluk: Lahad Datu offers an emotional and action-packed portrayal of the courage and sacrifices made by Malaysia's security forces in protecting the nation’s sovereignty. The film was released in cinemas nationwide on 22 August 2024 and has achieved impressive commercial success, grossing a total box office collection of RM 26 million.
